International Summer Science Camp in the Galilee - 2010

lab work This could become a reality if you join us this summer at Migal's International Summer Science Camp in Israel.
  • Participate in a number of research workshops in the fields of biotechnology, applied medicine, molecular biology, chemistry, ecology, agriculture and environmental science.
  • Get hands-on experience in cutting-edge fields of research.
  • Work alongside professionals, who will be there to answer your questions.
  • Use sophisticated lab equipment.
  • Learn how to prepare and give an effective scientific presentation.
Fun in the Galilee
water fun You will have a week of science and fun with your Israeli peers. Your days will be packed with social activities, hikes and tours, such as:
  • Kayaking down the Jordan
  • Bicycle trip in the Hula Valley
  • Hike through a source of the Jordan River
  • Visit beautiful nature reserves
  • Go bowling or ice skating in Metulla

  • If you would like to attend two consecutive sessions, that can most likely be arranged.
Accommodations
accomodations You will stay at "Bakfar Country Lodging" in Kibbutz Kfar Szold , located in the Hula Valley, one of the most peaceful and beautiful regions in Israel. The views around you will be unforgettable: Mt. Hermon to the North, the Golan Heights to the East and the Naftali mountains to the West. The Jordan River runs through the valley, with a variety of wildlife along its banks. The location is only a short drive from Safed, Tiberias and the Sea of Galilee.

The rooms are modern, with air conditioning, bathroom and showers, and kitchenette. You will receive 3 Kosher meals and 2 snacks a day. Some will be served in the dining room, and some at camp.

Eligibility
The camp is open to Hebrew and English speaking students from around the world who are science oriented and have just finished the 10th or 11th grade.

Participation Fee
The fee for one session of camp is $750. This includes room, board, tuition and tours. It does NOT include transportation to and from the camp. We can help you arrange transportation within Israel to the camp.
Scholarships may be available from your local Jewish Community.
