DESIGNING LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS FOR THE 21st CENTURY
Press here for map of candidates!! ASTL is an "Invited Only" international workshop for educators from both Developed and Developing countries. This workshop will help mutually develop collaborative projects, and will also include discussions to help the participants most effectively prepare their students for the coming "Learning Century" using new approaches, and involving integration of technology to support needed changes in teaching and learning.
Go to Projects to see an outline for preparing a cooperative project proposal. The central purpose of the Workshop is to bring together the participants in order to share and exchange knowledge and experiences, and to generate cooperative international educational projects involving students and teachers in both Developed & Developing Countries through the use of on-line telecommunications, the Internet, and the World Wide Web.
The workshop will focus on how multimedia, the electronic arts, design, and project-based approaches to learning can improve learning and student achievement in the sciences and mathematics, as well as in other interdisciplinary fields. The goal of creating joint projects between Developing and Developed Countries is not just to develop "pan pals" or occasional chat sessions, but rather to facilitate collaborative learning of many content areas from multiple perspectives. Perhaps even more important, the aim is to create a sharing and learning space through ongoing dialogue between the students and teachers in fields of mutual interest.
