Energy Problems: Analysis of the environmental impact of different types of energy in Italy and in UgandaThe project aims to awaken students to the consumption of energy in the world
Specific Objectives
- First by making them understand the importance of a rational use
- Second the need to develop alternative and renewable sources of energy in order to face up the certain crisis we are all going to meet if we continue in the use of not renewable sources of energy.
This project will involve students of the last courses (16-18 years) and we will give them tasks regarding their school preparation.
The project will be divided into two stages:In the 1st stage students will collect data for a bibliographical analysis, regarding the "history" of energy consumptions.
They will compare the evolution of both traditional and alternative sources.
The students will attempt to implement an analysis of the environmental impact due to the production of both traditional and alternative energy.
To better understand energy problems students will visit power plants already existing in the area, in guided tours. In the 2nd stage Computer Studies students will create hypertext, using application software (ex. Asymetric Multimedia Tool Book - Visual Basic) where data, previously collected, will be recorded on CD or the Internet.
Mechanics students will build a prototype of hydraulic turbine for energy production.
