Name: Nicole Herman
School/Institute: Lycee Roosevelt
Position: I am an Applied Physics teacher in a secondary school, teaching electricity and electronics. I am also the President of the local branch of a Physics and Chemistry teachers association.

I work with research groups on the following subjects: remote sensing (orbitography, measures from satellites, the process of images data, the use of these images in everyday life), meteorology (field measurements, the use of satellite images, global change, interactions between ocean and atmosphere), the use of computers, interfaces and sensors in experimental sciences (physics, chemistry, biology, technology).

City and Country: Reims, France
Proposed Project: "Study the European coasts from satellite images". Different schools in different countries will be "in an image" and will be in charge of the field work on the site to give information to other schools studying an image of a foreign country. Students will have to use new technologies to study images and to exchange information with the other schools. To study an image will mean to study a region: ways of life, industrialization, environmental observation.
Partners: Partners in the past: Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, England.
